Year in Review 2024
In 2024, we celebrated 14 incredible years of wine, food, and travel experiences in Maine and around the globe. It was a year brimming with exceptional wines, delicious food, wonderful people, and unforgettable moments.
Over the years, it has been our honor and joy to build lasting friendships with our team, customers, and business partners. We’re so grateful to be part of a supportive, inspiring community and an industry that motivates us to always put our best foot forward.
As we step into the new year, we’re taking a moment to reflect on 2024’s highlights and give you a glimpse of what’s ahead in 2025. Thank you for being part of our journey and for letting us be a part of yours.
Here’s to a bright and delicious new year—we’re here to help make it your best yet!
Cheers!
The Wine Wise Team 🍷
This year has been incredible, and we couldn’t have done it without you! As we close the book on 2024, let’s pour a glass and reflect on the highlights that made this year unforgettable.
Monthly Wine Club
Our monthly Wine Club continues to grow. Hand-carrying our sommelier-selected wines straight to your doorstep and connecting with you one-on-one is a highlight for us. We hosted the two members-only semi-annual soirées in Winter at a members' home. Falmouth Country Club generously hosted the Summer soirée, inviting all wine club members to meet and mingle over great wines and food.
Tuscany & Cinque Terre, April 28 - May 8
In the Spring, we led our highly-anticipated Small-Group Trip to Tuscany & Cinque Terre with a great group of customers—an annual unforgettable journey through breathtaking landscapes and vineyards in the heart of Italian wine country. We visited world-class wineries for top-tier tastings, indulged in authentic local cuisine, and stayed in beautifully appointed inns. Experiencing this alongside our wonderful customers made it all the more special, and we can't wait to do it again in May 2025 and Spring 2026.
Portland Wine Week, June 10 - 16
With the incredible support of Bangor Savings, the Maine Office of Tourism, and all community-focused sponsors, we were proud to present the 7th Annual Portland Wine Week. This week-long boutique wine and food festival truly reflects what makes Portland special – a celebration of the small, independent restaurants, sommeliers, and chefs that shape our city’s renowned culinary landscape. With over 40 events in the Women in Wine Track alone, this year’s festival wasn’t just spectacular – it was a testament to the strength, talent, and passion that fuel Portland’s vibrant food and wine scene.
Wine Sails, June 7 - October 13
We hit the water for over 120 Wine Sails this year – more than ever! From a wide variety of region- and varietal-focused Wine Sails, to over 500 Maine oysters shucked on every Wine & Oyster Sail, to our most exclusive Chef Series Wine & Food Sails with top-tier Portland chefs, each and every Wine Sail was a one-of-a-kind wine experience pairing five fantastic wines, smooth sailing on the immaculate 74-foot Frances, and the pristine beauty of Casco Bay. A huge thank you to the amazing Captain Megan and her crew, our chef partners, and the oyster shuckers who made these sails a highlight of everyone's year!
Wine & Food Walks
You asked, and we delivered – Wine & Food Walks made their grand return in November after a nearly 5-year hiatus that started with COVID-19! Exploring the Portland restaurant scene through the eyes of a Portland-born-and-raised sommelier feels better than ever.
Expanded Wine Selections
We expanded our wine selection across all levels – Explorer, Elevated, Premium, and Super Premium – and now offer delivery to 12 cities and towns around Portland. Whether you’re just starting your wine journey or seeking rare gems, we’re poised to help our community drink better wines at home.
Supporting Portland’s Restaurants
We were proud to sponsor once again the Portland Food Map Pocket Guide (printed), "A Comprehensive to Portland's Food Scene."– the ultimate printed resource for discovering the best of Portland’s culinary landscape. Supporting the city’s thriving food scene is something we hold dear, and we’re thrilled to be part of it.
Social Media Milestone
We celebrated a milestone on Instagram – 10,000 followers – and it continues to grow! Hit that link and join us on Instagram, check out our content (and 2024 recap) in video form, and stay connected with us in real time.
Fall & Winter Gatherings
As the weather cooled down, we cozied up with Wine Dinners and Bourbon Tastings at Falmouth Country Club. These gatherings, featuring the wonderful Chef Timothy Labonte and his culinary team, were delicious opportunities to see each other in person and celebrate the season.
Recipes & Blog Expansion
Working alongside some of Portland’s most talented chefs, we developed even more delicious recipes to pair with our curated wines. These gems were shared with our Wine Club members and highlighted on our ever-growing blog.
Cheers to 2025!
