ABOUT PORTLAND WINE WEEK
Starting in 2018, Portland Wine Week is a collaborative week of boutique-style, wine-related culinary events taking place June 10-16, 2024 in coastal, Portland, Maine. The week-long event showcases many of the acclaimed small, independent restaurants, chefs, and wine pros that make Portland, Maine worthy of being a top national gastronomic destination. Portland Wine Week is run and managed by Wine Wise with the help of our generous and community-driven sponsors.
ABOUT WINE WISE
Since 2010, Wine Wise has curated unparalleled wine education experiences in Portland, Maine, offering engaging and interactive opportunities for individuals to enrich their Maine experience and wine knowledge through an array of public events, private engagements, and wine region excursions. Wine Wise fosters deep connections within the Greater Portland community and collaborates with numerous small, local businesses in the restaurant, beverage, and marine sectors, while also drawing a significant and growing number of newcomers to Maine for world-class wine experiences. Featured in Yankee Magazine’s “Best of New England, 2023 Summer Guide.”
ABOUT THE CANDIDATE
Desired candidates have fluency in all social media platforms and trends, outstanding time management skills, the ability to think strategically and creatively, are adaptable and detail-oriented. They have a passion for quality work, which is essential to success in this position. Strong photography, video, and writing skills are a plus!
ABOUT THE JOB
Portland Wine Week is seeking a self-motivated, creative, and organized individual to create a series of 15 videos/reels for publishing on TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook leading up to the 7th Annual Portland Wine Week, June 10-16, 2024. The video content will highlight 15 participating chefs and sommeliers, as well as Maine cheesemongers, farmers, fishermen, etc.
Ability to learn or stay current on varying social media algorithms, trends, and best practices
Ability or willingness to learn various editing software for mobile video media
Create 15 engaging short-form videos (90 seconds or less) for an on-brand project series
Capture all well-lit high-quality video, audio, and photography
Optimize video content/length/copy according to best practices for each platform
Create on-brand reel/video cover photos for each reel/video
Publish one reel/video per week across multiple platforms on a 15-week schedule
Identify, communicate, and troubleshoot constraints
Track and report stats for each video across platforms to inform any necessary troubleshooting
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Submit a final report of all stats by platform and reel/video by June 20, 2024
COORDINATION & TEAM COLLABORATION
Participate in team meetings to develop a storyboard and content formula for the series
Participate ongoing weekly team status/planning meetings
Collaborate to create a requirements list for each video in the series (e.g. video/photo, shot list, clear audio recordings, lighting, etc)
Collaborate to develop interview questions for each video in the series
Coordinate and schedule shoots with participating talent professionally and efficiently
Collaborate to develop on-brand short captions, copy, and hashtags to promote reels/videos according to best practices across all platforms

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Education: Bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred, but not required. Industry experience or familiarity is a strong plus. We are open to an entry-level candidate.
Experience: 0-2 years
Travel: To and from meetings and shoots around Maine.
