As part of our 10-year celebration, we'll be joining with a series of long-time industry partners and friends to bring you special wine and food events throughout the year. And since our 10-year celebration commences on the last weekend of February—there's no better time to kick it all off and join together for great wine and food on a wintery mid-week night.
On Wednesday, February 26, join with Sommelier Erica Archer, and Head Chef Kristen Cote at The Grill Room, for a delicious mid-week 4-course wine dinner. Erica has selected four delicious wines from their wine list that highlight the renowned wine regions of California’s North Coast—Anderson Valley, Carneros, Napa Valley, and Sonoma, and that pair beautifully with the four delicious dishes that Chef Cote has designed for the occasion.
Ticket price is $100 all-inclusive of food, wine, tax, and service. Seating is limited to 18 people.
The Grill Room & Bar is located in the Historic Old Port District in Portland, ME. This “urban steakhouse” features a wood-fired grill, rich and tender entrees in a rustic, open space with easy views of the kitchen, tall ceilings, and a warm and comfortable ambiance.
Chef Kristen Cote was born and raised in Pittsfield, Maine on a family-owned dairy farm, which is still fully functioning by her father. Her love for cooking came from her family. Growing up they were always cooking together for every family celebration you could imagine.
In 2013 she graduated from Southern Maine Community College with an associate’s degree in culinary arts. She has worked for Terra Cotta Pasta in South Portland and at The Harraseeket Inn in Freeport as well as for Sunday River before moving back to Portland where she began working at The Grill Room and Bar since June 2016—starting as a line cook and worked her way to becoming this very busy and popular restaurant’s head chef. Most recently, she beat out dozens of competing restaurants in the 2019 Spirit Quest competition with her Spicy Asian Pork Belly appetizer that she prepared for 400 very happy people.
Your Sommelier. Archer is a true oenophile, having obtained high levels of certification in her field. In 2010, she was awarded the Wine Spirit and Education Trust Level Three Advanced Certification in Wines and Spirits (with merit), became a Sommelier in the American Court of Master Sommeliers, and received her Certified Wine Professional award from the Culinary Institute of America in St. Helena, California. Erica is the principal of Wine Wise, a wine education and events service and is skilled at creating truly creative and memorable wine experiences that take guests beyond a typical tasting with her intimate understanding of what makes each wine unique. And she’ll do it with her trademark down to earth style and sense of humor.
Please note: Wine Wise gift cards are not redeemable for this special event.
